An effort is underway to enhance the pedestrian experience of Buckhead’s shopping district. In a few months, Atlanta-based Selig Enterprises will start making extensive renovations to Lenox Marketplace, a 9.4-acre retail center anchored by Target, Publix and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The firm is improving façades, redoing sidewalks and adding a 30-foot, open-air corridor. It has since rebranded the car-centric property as The Block at Phipps. Reconstruction of a fire-damaged bridge over South Fork Peachtree Creek that has kept a portion of Cheshire Bridge Road closed for a year is finally underway. The Atlanta Department of Transportation posted an update on social media Friday saying that the bridge is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.
